Piles are problematic anal cushions which may bleed but rarely cause pain.  The best treatment is prevention and rarely do I resort to the painful operations of the past which were sometimes worse than the condition that they were treating.  Primarily, advice would be tailored to the underlying cause of the piles, which may simply be spending too long straining on the toilet.  Here is my guide to modern day treatment of piles.
