Trials (HALO)

There are several active trials that I am involved in, one exciting trial is looking at HALO which compares HAEMORRHOIDAL ARTERY LIGATION OPERATION with and without the Doppler probe. The role of the doppler has been a great unknown in the treatment of piles and hopefully we will be able to recruit enough local patients to answer whether it is needed. For patients who want to read the PATIENT INFORMATION to this trial please click here.

These trials attempt to further our understanding of surgery. I have been involved in many trials and encourage patients to do so on a voluntary basis. This often improves their standard care but every patient can withdraw at any stage.
